Maker: Udo Anchütz (D)
Barrel length: 278mm
This serie of pistols were made by the company of Udo Anschütz from Zella (UAZ) who produced high quality hunting guns and later his renowned target pistols. In order to stand out in comparison to other gun makers, Udo decided to make only very high quality weapons. His philosophy: to make only the best he could. It paid off.
In 1925 his son-in law, Franz Merkel, joined the company. Franz played an important part in the development
of the Record and Meisterschaftpistolen, like the Model 210. One of the best-made and tested models was the 210 (A), which was made from an Aluminium alloy and
weighed considerably less than the original 200 or 300 series. The last serie 300 had an aluminium alloy frame and special Bohler steel barrel. Although it had a smaller barrel then its predecessors, it weighed in at 1320 grams!
The company doors finally closed in 1965, and Franz passed away in 1977.
