Model: 1893 Hera
Caliber: 4mm – 8mm CF
Barrel length: 280mm
After the successful development of the various 1893 Models, Langenhan produced in 1912 a new model called
HERA. He combined the Kipplauf system with the gently sloping wooden grips he had used on the Arabian shaft Model 1893 and modified the internal locking system from Langenhan – HERA an internal hammer system to an elongated, coil-operated hammer which hit the firing pin situated inside the lock.
The wooden grips are distinctively ergonomically formed and it has a fluted barrel. On top of the barrel are Swiss-type adjustable rear sights and a loading indicator, allowing the shooter to see if the pistol is ready to shoot. The Hera was made in various calibers, from the 4 mm rim fire to the 8 mm center fire cartridge.
The whole system is operated by the trigger-guard which acts as a cocking-lever, very much like the Model 1893.
