The model Tell was finally introduced in 1910 and won first place during the world championships of 1911, 1912, and 1913 and even more second places. Büchel could make to order and also produce standard pistols and many variations that still exist today – too many to mention!

Theodor Kommer, a gifted weapons and system maker, also lived in Zella-Mehlis, where he worked closely with Büchel for many years, creating the specialized ergonomic hand-grips and elongated adjustable-rear sights for the Tell. Büchel was so successful that other firms copied the Tell and Luna during the 1920-30’s. It was this system that inspired Udo Anschütz, which he later used for his improved models 200 and 210.
