Hinged falling breech block

Hinged falling block or Drehblock Verschlüsse – (also known as: Swinging breech block) The Drehblock is a popular breech block system used in many target rifles and pistols. It houses a fixed barrel and the breech rotates downwards when the loading lever is actuated, thereby cocking the internal concealed striker or a hammer. The trigger guard often acts as the loading lever which usually hinges on a pin in front of the chamber, making it swing- or hinge downwards when loading the pistol. These systems could also have a separate loading lever situated in the handle of the pistol.
