Rear hinged breech block

Rear hinged breech block – Martini/Peabody Verschlüsse. When the loading lever of the target pistol is operated, the breech block pivots downwards from the rear of the frame, thereby extracting the empty case and cocking the internal coil spring of the striker at the same time. When the loading lever is raised again, the breech is closed and the pistol is ready to fire. It has a fixed barrel.
