This hinged falling (Drehblock) block pistol was designed by Carl Wilhelm Aydt, who worked for 36 years as repairer/shooting master for the company of C.G. Haenel, who used the name “Original-System-Aydt”, first in their rifles and later for their pistols. It was patented in 1884 and developed in 1890 for their pistols. The barrel is secured. Its caliber is .22lr.
