This was Büchel’s “Meisterschaftpistole”
(“championship pistol”) It was a typical example to show one’s craftsmanship and capabilities in producing such high-quality pistol systems. It is also known as
the “Stecherspanner” because the system will allow the shooter to cock the internal hammer with the rear trigger, while using the front trigger to fire the system.
E.F. Büchel – Meisterschaftspistole
The Stecherspanner system was first patented in 1887 and was primarily used very successfully in the Schuetzen rifle segment. The first pistols came on the market in about 1905.
